Akan is our oldest supported language at kasahorow. Our Akan effort started in 2005 with an Akan language keyboard, and an online dictionary and we eventually started publishing Akan books in 2012.

Modern Akan is a more readable form of written Akan. It is based on the orthographic harmonization work carried out by the Bureau of Ghana Languages and The Centre for Advanced Studies of African Society.

kasahorow Akan uses Modern Akan for writing. Modern Akan is a simpler spelling system for writing all the Akan languages including Akuapem Twi, Asante Twi, and Fante. Most notably, Modern Akan uses spaces to separate words belonging to different parts of speech. This makes it easier to read for new language learners.
